Amid uncertainty over an alliance with Congress for the assembly polls in Haryana, AAP on Saturday asserted its stance as a ''strong, third alternative'' in the state, warning that those who underestimate it will regret it.

In an evening meeting, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha met Congress leaders to push forward alliance talks.

Post-meeting, AICC general secretary for Haryana Deepak Babaria remarked, ''Nothing has been finalised yet, a decision is expected by tomorrow or the day after.'' Earlier in the day, AAP's national secretary Sandeep Pathak indicated the party's readiness to contest all 90 Haryana seats with full force.

Pathak stated, ''We are fully prepared. Once we get the nod, we'll make our announcements. We intend to fight with full force, and underestimation will lead others to regret.'' Alliance talks have hit an impasse over seat sharing, with AAP demanding 10 seats and Congress offering five to seven.

Meanwhile, AAP Haryana vice president Anurag Dhandha emphasized the party's position as a ''strong, third alternative,'' insisting no future government in the state is possible without AAP.

''Our goal is to remove the BJP from Haryana politics. Those who consider us weak are making a significant political error,'' Dhandha commented to PTI Videos on the status of alliance talks.

Haryana will go to polls on October 5, with nominations due by September 12. AAP's primary spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar expressed optimism about reaching a conclusion in the talks.

However, sources on Friday suggested the alliance talks may collapse, with AAP potentially contesting 50 seats and planning to release its candidate list soon.

Previously, AAP and Congress allied for the Lok Sabha polls in Haryana, Gujarat, and Delhi but faced losses, including AAP's defeat in Haryana's Kurukshetra seat.
