Independent U.S. presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Thursday filed paperwork to withdraw from presidential ballots in the state of Arizona, according to Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes. The withdrawal aligns with Kennedy's impending national address on Friday in Arizona.

A super PAC supporting Kennedy informed Reuters on Wednesday that Kennedy is seeking a deal with Donald Trump. In this potential agreement, Kennedy would endorse the Republican candidate in return for a position in a possible Trump administration. Trump confirmed to CNN this week that he is open to the idea of Kennedy playing a role in his administration if the independent candidate drops out and endorses him.

Both Kennedy, his vice presidential running mate Nicole Shanahan, and 11 of his presidential electors have voluntarily withdrawn from the race, as stated by Fontes on X. Requests for comment from the Kennedy campaign went unanswered. Kennedy, who is 70 years old and the son of late Democratic politician and U.S. Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, initially launched his presidential bid as a Democrat, challenging President Joe Biden for the nomination.
