On Thursday, the Uttarakhand Congress took to the streets in a significant protest against what they allege is the Narendra Modi government's undue favoritism towards its capitalist allies, such as Gautam Adani, and the continuous misuse of central investigation agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against opposition leaders.

Led by PCC President Karan Mahara and Vice President Suryakant Dhasmana, thousands of Congress supporters marched from the party's state office on Rajpur Road to the ED office at Cross Road, chanting anti-government slogans. Mahara stressed that revelations by Hindenburg have exposed a colossal scam involving billions of public money, allegedly pointing to a nexus between Modi and Adani.

Mahara demanded a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) investigation into what he termed the Modi-SEBI-Adani scam, condemning the misuse of investigation agencies to target opposition leaders for their dissent against the government's policies. He also pointed to rising inflation and unemployment and criticized schemes like Agniveer, which he claims ruin the future of the nation's youth. Concerns were raised over the condition of farmers and the increase in violent crimes against women during Modi's tenure.
