Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Polish President Andrzej Duda on Thursday to discuss ways to enhance bilateral ties and bolster commercial and cultural linkages between India and Poland.
Modi arrived in Poland on Wednesday, marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the country in 45 years. He is also scheduled to visit Kyiv during his two-nation tour.
Following the meeting at Belweder Palace, Modi posted on X, expressing his satisfaction with the discussions. The leaders held 'fruitful talks' covering a range of sectors and agreed to upgrade India-Poland relations to a Strategic Partnership. Discussions also included regional and global issues, such as conflicts in Ukraine and West Asia. Modi expressed gratitude for Poland's assistance in evacuating Indian citizens from Ukraine during 'Operation Ganga' and reiterated his invitation for President Duda to visit India.
