The Congress' Haryana and Punjab units staged protests in Chandigarh on Thursday, urging SEBI chief Madhabi Buch to resign and demanding the formation of a joint parliamentary committee to investigate the Adani issue.

Protesters from both states gathered in response to a nationwide call by the Congress amid controversy sparked by Hindenburg Research's allegations against Buch. Haryana Congress leaders, led by Udai Bhan, and Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring both led marches that were intercepted by police.

The Congress intensified its attack on the government after Hindenburg Research alleged that Buch and her husband had stakes in offshore funds linked to the purported Adani scandal. Buch and her husband have denied these allegations, and the Adani Group has dismissed them as malicious and manipulative.
