Prominent Indian leaders from various political parties have expressed deep sorrow over the passing of CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury. Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi, Chief Minister M K Stalin, and AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami highlighted Yechury's relentless fight for justice and his significant contributions to the political landscape of India.
Governor Ravi, in a post on 'X', expressed his condolences saying, 'Deeply saddened by the demise of Thiru Sitaram Yechury, veteran CPI-M leader. His impactful contributions to Indian politics will always be remembered. My heartfelt condolences to his family and followers. Om Shanti!'
Chief Minister Stalin described Yechury as a 'stalwart of the Left movement' whose commitment to justice began from a young age, notably during the Emergency period. Similarly, other leaders commended Yechury's role in national alliances and his lifelong dedication to the causes of the poor and downtrodden.
