BJP Demands Mamata Banerjee's Resignation Over Law and Order Crisis

State BJP president Sukanta Majumdar made the call at a demonstration in Shyambazar, near the site of the incident. The Calcutta High Court permitted the state BJP to hold a five-day protest to draw attention to the issue.

The state had requested the demonstration be limited to one day, arguing that an extended sit-in would inconvenience the general public.
