Champai Soren, the former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, received a warm welcome from supporters as he returned to his hometown of Seraikela Kharsawan on Tuesday night. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader's arrival from Delhi has fueled speculation about a potential switch to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Last Sunday, Soren took to social media to voice grievances, claiming he had been 'insulted' during his tenure as Chief Minister. He suggested all options were open ahead of the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections. Responding to the rumors on Monday, State Congress Chief Keshav Mahto Kamlesh told the media that their coalition had always respected Soren, having made him an MLA, minister, and Chief Minister. Kamlesh downplayed any cause for Soren's dissatisfaction.

Despite the reassurances, Soren detailed instances on social media where he felt marginalized, such as being asked to resign abruptly and being denied the chance to convene a legislative party meeting. He outlined three potential future paths: retiring from politics, forming a separate organization, or partnering with a new party. BJP State President Babulal Marandi acknowledged Soren's distress but did not comment on a possible BJP switch.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren accused the BJP of attempting to poach MLAs and destabilize the state government, alleging that the BJP aims to divide families and communities. State Minister Banna Gupta echoed these accusations, suggesting that the BJP is trying to turn Jharkhand's democracy into a 'laboratory.' Gupta expressed confidence that Champai Soren would resist BJP's overtures.

As the political atmosphere in Jharkhand heats up, all attention is on Champai Soren's next move, which holds significant implications for the forthcoming state elections. (ANI)
