The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has expressed a strong desire to join forces with the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance in Maharashtra in an effort to unseat the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This statement was made by former MP and AIMIM state unit president Imtiaz Jaleel during an interview with Marathi news channel ABP Majha after a party meeting in Mumbai.

Jaleel reiterated that the AIMIM had previously offered a coalition with the MVA during the Lok Sabha elections and is extending the offer again to defeat the BJP. He acknowledged that the decision rests with the MVA. Jaleel added, 'If they take us along, it will be beneficial for them. If not, we are ready to move ahead alone.'

When questioned about AIMIM's stance on MVA constituent Shiv Sena (UBT), Jaleel underlined the importance of keeping BJP out of power. He also dismissed any possibility of an alliance with the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) led by Prakash Ambedkar. Criticizing the Mahayuti government's 'Ladki Bahin' scheme, he labeled it as a political maneuver lacking genuine concern for women voters. The upcoming state assembly elections, slated for October-November, have added urgency to these political maneuvers.
