Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP president Ajit Pawar addressed the controversy surrounding Shiv Sena minister Tanaji Sawant's critical remarks, emphasizing his commitment to working for the people instead of reacting to criticism. Pawar made these comments while speaking to reporters at Nagpur airport.
Sawant, also the state health minister, had recently stated that he feels uneasy sitting next to NCP members during cabinet meetings. His remarks revealed internal tensions within the Mahayuti coalition, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP.
The coalition's internal issues have become more evident after their underwhelming performance in the Lok Sabha elections, securing only 17 out of 48 seats in Maharashtra, while the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance won 30 seats.
