Uddhav Thackeray, president of Shiv Sena (UBT), has demonstrated a remarkable gesture by offering his support to any leader from Congress and NCP (SP) for the chief minister's post, as confirmed by party MP Sanjay Raut on Saturday.
Raut dismissed any allegations of pressure politics surrounding Thackeray's plea for the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) allies to announce their chief ministerial candidate ahead of the Maharashtra assembly elections. He emphasized that Thackeray, given his broad acceptance as a former chief minister, is acting in the best interest of Maharashtra.
Addressing reporters, Raut challenged the ruling Mahayuti coalition, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena, BJP, and NCP, under Ajit Pawar, to declare their own CM candidate.
