The caretaker government in Bangladesh is firmly dedicated to ushering in an inclusive and pluralistic democracy, promising an environment for free, fair, and participatory elections, stated its head Mohammad Yunus on Saturday.
Addressing the third Voice of Global South Summit virtually hosted by India, Yunus spoke about Bangladesh's 'Second Revolution' on August 5, 2024. This mass uprising, led by students, resulted in the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and subsequent violence.
Yunus, now Chief Advisor of the interim government that took office on August 8, highlighted the ongoing reforms in the country's electoral system, judiciary, local governance, media, economy, and education.
