BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called for the extradition of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina from India, asserting it is pivotal to strengthening Indo-Bangla relations. In an interview with PTI, Alamgir emphasized that Hasina's presence in India harms bilateral ties and urged India's cooperation.
Alamgir slammed the Adani electricity deal signed during the Awami League regime, labeling it a burden on Bangladeshi citizens. He added that BNP would ensure no anti-India activities occur on Bangladeshi soil, promoting regional security.
The BNP leader also criticized India for failing to forge a direct relationship with the people of Bangladesh. He assured that BNP, if voted to power, would seek to resolve past misunderstandings and bolster diplomatic and economic ties with India.
