DMK Allies Boycott Tamil Nadu Governor's Independence Day Tea Party
Congress and other allies of the DMK announced plans to boycott the Independence Day tea party hosted by Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi. This decision comes in protest against Ravi's actions, perceived as against Tamil Nadu's interests and its elected government. Key parties joining the boycott include VCK, CPI, CPI (M), and MDMK.

Congress and DMK allies announced on Tuesday they will boycott the Independence Day tea party hosted by Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi on August 15.
TNCC President K Selvaperunthagai stated that the party will abstain from the Raj Bhavan event, criticizing the governor's actions as counter to Tamil Nadu's interests and its elected government. 'The activities of the governors are becoming political under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's regime... We are boycotting the tea party,' Selvaperunthagai expressed.
VCK chief Thol Thirumavalavan and other parties such as CPI, CPI (M), and the MDMK also announced their boycott in protest against Ravi's 'anti-Tamil Nadu actions.'
