Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati announced on Sunday that her party will contest all 10 assembly seats in the upcoming bypolls in Uttar Pradesh. The Election Commission has not yet set a date for the elections.
The BSP leader, after a meeting with district chiefs and party functionaries, stated that it's crucial for the party to field candidates in these elections. She emphasized the state's growing political activity, especially from the ruling BJP, turning the by-elections into a matter of prestige.
Mayawati sharply criticized the BJP government's handling of poverty, unemployment, and rising prices, claiming they are engaging in 'bulldozer politics' to divert attention. She also targeted Congress for its stance on reservation, asserting that the credit for India's reservation policies is due entirely to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar.
