Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav took a jab at the speculated rift within the BJP in Uttar Pradesh, referring to Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya as a 'pawn.' Yadav made the comments while speaking to reporters after unveiling a 'Samvidhan-Manstambh' at the SP headquarters.

Yadav targeted the Yogi Adityanath government over its handling of corruption, stating, 'The government used to claim zero tolerance on corruption, but now their leaders are admitting to unprecedented corruption.' A former state minister had recently made similar remarks but later retracted them.

Yadav's comments hint at internal friction within the BJP, although he didn't mention names explicitly. Maurya responded by calling Yadav a 'pawn of the Congress' and emphasized that the BJP would replicate its 2017 state assembly poll success in 2027.
