Since its inception in 2021, the Sugamya Bharat mobile application has logged more than 1,400 complaints related to public accessibility. Official data reveals that approximately 75% of these issues have been resolved.

Designed to aid people with disabilities and the elderly, the Sugamya Bharat app allows users to report accessibility problems in public infrastructure, transportation, and buildings. Complaints are filed by uploading photos, which are then forwarded to relevant authorities. Between 2021 and 2024, the app received 1,441 complaints, resolving 1,081.

To enhance the app's features, the government plans to redesign it with AI capabilities. The upgraded version will include an AI-powered chatbot and multilingual interface, improving its overall functionality. This initiative aligns with broader efforts to boost accessibility across India's infrastructure and ICT ecosystems.
