In a fiery Lok Sabha debate, Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi accused the BJP government of creating conditions akin to an 'undeclared emergency,' leading to a brief adjournment. Channi pointed to the government's disregard for Punjab, rising prices, and the treatment of farmers and various societal issues as evidence of this emergency.

The session turned heated when Channi exchanged sharp words with Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu over personal remarks, leading to a thirty-minute adjournment. Channi criticized the Union Budget, labeling it as one designed to save the government rather than the country, and slammed the BJP for ignoring Punjab's needs.

Channi's allegations included the slow progress in the Sidhu Moosewala case, mistreatment of farmers, women athletes, and journalists, and a general lack of sincere governance. He also highlighted the depreciation of the rupee, rising fuel prices, and the privatization of airports as major failures of the current administration.
