AAP Punjab's farmers wing staged a protest on Wednesday against BJP MP Kangana Ranaut's remarks on the farmers' protest, demanding her Lok Sabha membership be terminated.

The protesters also urged the BJP to immediately expel her from the party. Alleging that this isn't the first time Ranaut has spoken against the farmers' protest, the Punjab unit of AAP's Kisan Wing raised slogans against her.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, speaking in Mohali, called on the BJP to control controversial MPs like Ranaut. He accused her of vitiating the country's atmosphere with venomous statements.

AAP Punjab MLA Jagtar Singh Dayalpura, present at the Chandigarh protest, echoed the sentiment, saying, "She should be expelled from the BJP. She sows seeds of hatred in society and should face legal action for her remarks." The police briefly detained protesters after stopping them from gheraoing the Punjab BJP office.

Chief Minister Mann accused Ranaut of neglecting the welfare of her constituency in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, and instead repeatedly hurting Punjabis' sentiments with baseless statements. He urged the BJP to take responsibility rather than dismissing her comments as personal views.

Similar protests occurred in Haryana on Tuesday, led by AAP's Haryana unit president Sushil Gupta, who claimed Ranaut's remarks reveal the BJP's attitude toward farmers. Ranaut's controversial comments in an interview with Dainik Bhaskar have sparked widespread protests, including an adopted resolution by the Himachal Pradesh Assembly condemning her remarks.

The BJP has since disavowed Ranaut's views, emphasizing that she isn't authorized to speak on party policy matters. Thousands of farmers had previously agitated at Delhi's borders over the now-repealed farm laws.
