China has called on the European Union to adopt an objective and fair approach concerning matters related to the South China Sea following remarks made by the bloc over a recent incident. Beijing expressed strong dissatisfaction with what it termed as the EU's 'accusations.'

'The European Union is not a party to the South China Sea issue and has no right to point fingers,' a statement by China's mission to the EU declared. The statement further criticized the EU for 'hyping up' the issue of freedom of navigation, claiming it does not benefit the EU's own interests or international credibility.

The latest dispute revolves around a weekend clash between China and the Philippines, where both sides exchanged accusations of intentionally ramming coast guard vessels near the contested Sabina Shoal. This marks the fifth such incident in a month, highlighting the simmering tensions over this critical maritime region.
