FIDE Partners with Tech Mahindra for 45th Chess Olympiad in Budapest
FIDE has teamed up with Tech Mahindra for the upcoming 45th Chess Olympiad in Budapest, occurring from September 10 to 23. With record-breaking participation from 196 teams in the Open Section and 184 Women's teams, this event marks a significant milestone in the global chess landscape.

FIDE (International Chess Federation) announced on Tuesday a partnership with Tech Mahindra for the 45th Chess Olympiad in Budapest. This global event, set to take place from September 10 to 23, will feature 196 teams in the Open Section and 184 teams in the Women's Section, marking the highest participation in history.
Tech Mahindra will serve as the General Sponsor for the Olympiad. Over the years, both FIDE and Tech Mahindra have collaborated on various initiatives aimed at revolutionizing the chess world.
FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich expressed excitement about extending the partnership with Tech Mahindra. "Our association with Tech Mahindra has been pivotal in advancing the game of chess. Their contributions, including the launch of the Global Chess League and innovative digital experiences, have been crucial in promoting chess globally. We look forward to an exciting tournament and further advancing chess together," he stated.
Peeyush Dubey, Chief Marketing Officer at Tech Mahindra, highlighted the significant impact of technological advancements in promoting chess. "The 44th Olympiad showcased India's growing prominence in chess. Our partnership with FIDE for the 45th edition in Budapest aims to leverage technology to expand chess's reach globally. Initiatives like the Global Chess League and next-gen digital fan experiences are part of our commitment. We wish all the participating teams the best of luck," he remarked.
The second season of the Global Chess League is scheduled to be held at Friends House in London from October 3 to 12, 2024, featuring six franchises that recently completed their Player Draft in Delhi.
