During an all-party meeting ahead of the Parliament session, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh highlighted that JD(U) and YSRCP vehemently demanded special category status for Bihar and Andhra Pradesh, respectively.
Interestingly, TDP remained silent on the issue despite its ongoing relevance in Andhra Pradesh. Ramesh communicated these observations in a post on social media platform X while the meeting was still in session.
JD(U), an important ally in the ruling NDA, had previously passed a resolution seeking special status or a package for Bihar. In contrast, Andhra Pradesh's leaders have found renewed momentum for their demands following the Lok Sabha elections.
