Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has informed President Joe Biden that she believes he cannot win the November 5 election and has backed California lawmaker Adam Schiff's call for Biden to step aside, according to a top White House source.

A source close to Pelosi stated that Schiff's comments were unexpected and that he did not consult with Pelosi before making his concerns public. A spokesman for Pelosi did not address Schiff's remarks, emphasizing the former speaker's respect for confidentiality in her conversations with the President.

Schiff expressed his serious concerns about Biden's chances of defeating Trump, particularly after the recent assassination attempt on the former Republican president. Despite this, Biden's deputy campaign manager Quentin Fulks asserted that Biden remains steadfast in his decision to run.
