Automakers Report Mixed Sales: Maruti, Hyundai, Tata Face Declines, While TVS and Toyota Surge

Leading automakers Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, and Tata Motors reported a decline in wholesales in August, as they reduced vehicle dispatches due to a drop in demand and sales in order to cut inventories at the dealer level.
Maruti Suzuki India's total domestic passenger vehicle wholesales were at 1,43,075 units last month, an 8% dip compared to 1,56,114 units a year ago. Hyundai also saw an 8% decline in domestic dispatches, while Tata Motors posted a 3% decrease.
Conversely, TVS Motor Company and Toyota Kirloskar Motor experienced significant year-on-year sales growth, with TVS reporting a 13% increase and Toyota a 35% rise as the festive season approaches.
