Members of the Delhi BJP staged a protest on Sunday, targeting Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over reportedly high electricity bills and unsanitary water conditions in the slums of Chitra Vihar, East Delhi.
The demonstration, led by City BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, spotlighted the alleged lack of basic facilities that residents face. Sachdeva claimed that the community suffers from elevated power and water bills, and the water quality is poor.
In a rebuttal, the AAP accused the BJP of political theatrics, asserting that BJP policies and actions had worsened the situation for slum-dwellers. AAP argued that Delhi's slum residents enjoy 24x7 electricity and water access due to their governance, while blaming BJP-led organizations for property demolitions and sanitation failures.
