Union Minister for the Development of the North East Region Jyotiraditya Scindia on Friday launched the North East Region Agri Commodity E-Connect (NERACE) app. Designed to benefit farmers, the app aims to position the region as a hub of high-value horticultural products in the international market. The app supports various agricultural and horticultural commodities.

The NE-RACE app is expected to boost the Northeast's role in the global agricultural value chain. In a social media post, Scindia celebrated the launch, stating, 'Digital India for North-East farmers! Delighted to launch NE-RACE App - an online global platform for North East Farmers, which will play a pivotal role in positioning the Northeast as a hub of high-value horticultural products.'

Scindia met Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, discussing plans to create a 'Viksit Purvottar,' aligning with PM Modi's vision. Their talks focused on leveraging technology, environment, and tourism to boost regional connectivity and infrastructure, driving growth in Meghalaya. Scindia also reviewed the Department of Posts' 100-day action plan aimed at enhancing service delivery and efficiency.

The Ministry of Communications announced that the Department of Posts will organize 5,000 Dak Chaupals across the country within 100 days. The initiative aims to improve rural accessibility to essential government services, reducing barriers like distance. Meanwhile, the Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra Scheme will support small-scale rural exporters by aiding in documentation, market info, and customs clearance.
