Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelenskyy expressed his profound gratitude on Friday for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Ukraine, hailing it as historic and thanking him for making the trip. Addressing a press conference, Zelenskyy described his meeting with Modi as very fruitful and a good beginning with practical steps towards strengthening ties.

Zelenskyy underscored the significance of Modi's visit, marking the first official trip by an Indian Prime Minister to Ukraine. He expressed readiness for reciprocal steps and mentioned potential Indian hospitality for the Ukrainian delegation. He emphasized the positive trajectory of the bilateral relations.

The Ukrainian President criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin, noting that Modi desires peace more than Putin, who seemingly does not seek it. Zelenskyy pointed out the incongruity of Putin's actions during Modi's visit, remarking on the continued aggression against Ukraine. He interpreted such acts as a lack of respect for Modi and India. Zelenskyy called for a robust response from the international community, emphasizing the need to isolate Putin diplomatically to signal global condemnation.
