On Friday, Jharkhand Chief Secretary L Khiangte highlighted the crucial role female police personnel can play in reducing crimes against women. His remarks came during the inaugural State-Level Women Police Conference aimed at addressing the specific issues faced by women in law enforcement.

Khiangte assured that the government is committed to solving the challenges faced by female police officers through improved policies, better infrastructure, and enhanced workplace facilities. He stressed the need for prompt action and effective roles played by women officers in the investigation and evidence gathering processes.

During the two-day conference, measures to increase female representation in Jharkhand's police force will be discussed, including the goal to have a woman police officer in every station. Currently, only 5% of Jharkhand's police force is female, and efforts are underway to boost this through targeted recruitment initiatives.
