In an unprecedented move, over 32 lakh candidates participated in Uttar Pradesh's largest-ever police recruitment exam, vying for more than 60,000 vacant positions. The exams concluded on Saturday amidst tight security arrangements, with the state government lauding it as a historic feat.
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) conducted the exams across 1,174 centres in 67 districts. The five-day event, held in two shifts, was necessitated by the cancellation of exams earlier this year due to allegations of a paper leak. Candidates benefited from free bus services, including electric buses, provided by the Uttar Pradesh State Transport Corporation.
Extensive security measures, including the deployment of nearly 2 lakh police personnel, and the use of AI-equipped CCTVs, ensured a smooth and fair examination process. Aadhaar-based verification and immediate data analysis further strengthened the integrity of the selection process.
