Escalation in Gaza: Israeli Tanks Enter Nuseirat Camp Amid Ongoing Conflict
Israeli tanks entered Gaza’s Nuseirat camp, intensifying conflict and causing panic among residents. At least 11 Palestinians have been killed. With the war in its 14th month, Israel focuses on stopping Hamas militants, prompting evacuations and diminishing hopes for a ceasefire. Healthcare facilities are besieged amid ongoing violence.
On Monday, Israeli tanks advanced into the western part of Gaza's Nuseirat camp, escalating tensions in the central region. Palestinian medics reported that Israeli military operations since Sunday night resulted in at least 11 fatalities. The surprise incursion triggered panic among residents, especially in one of Gaza's eight historic refugee sites.
Zaik Mohammad, a local resident, expressed shock at the tanks' advance, noting the chaotic evacuation as some residents were unable to flee. Mohammad recounted desperation among those trapped and the hasty escape of others. With the conflict in its 14th month, Israel remains focused on disrupting Hamas activities in north and central Gaza to prevent future attacks.
Efforts to broker a ceasefire have faltered, despite Qatar's previous mediation attempts, as both sides show little willingness for compromise. Further compounding the humanitarian crisis, Israeli forces have surrounded multiple hospitals in northern Gaza, cutting them off from essential supplies, while military operations continue relentlessly amid international outcry.
