Authorities in Manipur have detained eight members of the United National Liberation Front of Manipur (Pambei), accusing them of endangering residents and halting the land demarcation process in Thoubal district.
Police recovered a weapon cache from the suspects, featuring five AK-47 rifles, an M-16 rifle, and a 9mm pistol. Their arrest underscores escalating violence linked to the UNLF(P), despite its prior ceasefire agreement with the government.
The arrested individuals, involved in illegal firearm activities, were seized along with vehicles and communication devices as the security situation remains tense, urging public vigilance against misinformation.
