Major Drug Bust: Over Rs 2 Crore Worth of Mephedrone Seized in Gujarat

Authorities in Gujarat's Bharuch and Surat districts have conducted a major drug bust, seizing more than 2 kilograms of mephedrone worth Rs 2.14 crore, alongside a 427 kilogram consignment of suspected drugs. This operation led to the apprehension of four individuals, officials confirmed on Monday.
The bust was executed through parallel operations, with Surat police commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot spearheading efforts to intercept a drug-laden vehicle near Velanja village, resulting in three arrests. Meanwhile, another team seized a significant drug haul from Avasar Enterprise in Ankleshwar GIDC.
All suspects were taken into custody, and two FIRs were registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The material has been dispatched to a Forensic Science Laboratory for confirmation. The arrested individuals have admitted to supplying drugs to Mumbai previously, according to police sources.
