At the NDTV World Summit 2024, Sunil Mittal, Founder and Chairperson of Bharti Enterprises Ltd., lauded India's Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for generating significant momentum in the manufacturing sector. According to Mittal, this initiative is not only bolstering domestic production but also attracting international companies to India.

Mittal emphasized India's rising economic influence and the global expansion of its brands, citing notable contributions from the manufacturing and export sectors. Highlighting India's capabilities in electronics, hardware, and software manufacturing, Mittal underscored the importance of promoting Indian culture and ethos while expanding Bharti Enterprises into international markets.

Mittal shared Airtel's journey of becoming a global brand, expanding to 14 sub-Saharan countries alongside Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Discussing the positive reception of Indian investments abroad compared to China's stricter scrutiny, he noted the burgeoning presence of Indian firms across global markets. As India's workforce is projected to hit 1 billion by 2030, Mittal advocated for enhanced manufacturing to leverage this demographic dividend, while emphasizing the importance of robust digital infrastructure.
