Tragic End: Teen Burnt Alive in Suspected Crime of Passion

A gruesome incident unfolded as a 16-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries after being allegedly set on fire by her ex-boyfriend, J Vignesh, who is now a fugitive, police reports revealed on Sunday.
The tragedy occurred on the fringes of Badvel in Kadapa district when Vignesh purportedly doused the teenager in petrol before igniting her on Saturday. Despite efforts to save her, the young victim died of severe burns early Sunday, according to local authorities.
The two were previously in a relationship, but Vignesh had married another woman, leading to tensions with the minor. The police have charged him under several laws, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, and are in pursuit of the accused.
