A shocking case of assault has emerged from Uttar Pradesh's Sonbhadra district, where a 22-year-old youth was allegedly attacked and urinated upon by a group of men.

Speaking on Wednesday, a senior police official confirmed that the main accused in the incident, which involved a group of seven to eight individuals, has been apprehended.

Additional Superintendent of Police Kalu Singh revealed that the assault occurred on the evening of September 26, when the victim, Pawan Kharwar, was ambushed by Ankit Bharti and his accomplices. 'The incident happened near Barrier number 1 in the Shaktinagar police station area,' Singh noted, adding that the accused not only thrashed but also urinated on Kharwar while recording the act on video.

The matter came to public attention about a week later when the victim's brother, Ankit Kharwar, highlighted the incident on social media platforms. ASP Singh mentioned that the victim and his brother had left for Baidhan in Madhya Pradesh soon after the incident and had not contacted the local police or emergency services during that time. A case has now been registered, and the main perpetrator, Bharti, is in police custody.
