The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted bail to Sunil N S, the principal accused in the notorious 2017 actress assault case in Kerala, which also implicated actor Dileep.

A bench comprising Justices A S Oka and Pankaj Mithal heard Sunil's appeal against the Kerala High Court's decision to deny his bail application. Known as 'Pulsar Suni,' he has been in custody for more than seven years.

Given the lengthy incarceration and the prolonged nature of the trial, the top court directed that Sunil be produced before the trial court within a week to finalize bail conditions. The prosecution has been permitted to argue for stringent conditions for his release.
