Youth Assault Incident in Sonbhadra: Main Accused Arrested

A group of men allegedly assaulted and urinated on a 22-year-old youth in Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh, leading the police to file an FIR.
A senior officer confirmed on Wednesday that the main accused, leading a group of seven to eight individuals, is now in custody.
Additional Superintendent of Police Kalu Singh reported the attack took place on September 26, when Pawan Kharwar was attacked by Ankit Bharti and his associates.
The incident occurred near Barrier number 1 in the Shaktinagar police station area. The perpetrators thrashed, urinated on the victim, and filmed the act, according to Singh.
The situation came to public attention almost a week later when the victim's brother, Ankit Kharwar, highlighted it on social media. ASP Singh mentioned that after the incident, both the victim and his brother had traveled to Baidhan in Madhya Pradesh without notifying local police or using emergency services. The main accused, Bharti, is now in custody.
The police have registered an FIR under various sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including charges such as rioting, unlawful assembly, voluntary hurt, intentional insult, criminal intimidation, attempted murder, grievous hurt, and assault with intent to dishonor.
