The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday intensively questioned Dr. Apurba Biswas of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital's forensic department. This inquiry forms part of an ongoing probe into the suspected rape and murder of a medic at the facility, according to an officer involved in the case.

Dr. Biswas, who had also been interrogated on Monday, faced questions about why the post-mortem examination of the medic was carried out after sunset, breaching standard procedure. He was further questioned about the apparent 'haste' in collecting samples from the seminar hall where the medic's body was found on August 9.

The investigation also saw the former medical superintendent and vice principal (MSVP), Dr. Sanjay Vashisth, being questioned regarding alleged financial malfeasance at the hospital. Current MSVP, Saptarshi Chatterjee, visited the CBI office to submit documents pertinent to the financial misconduct allegations. The dual investigations are being conducted under separate orders from the Calcutta High Court.
