Telangana Floods: 29 Dead, Relief Measures Announced

Twenty-nine people have lost their lives in the recent heavy rains and flooding in Telangana, a top official confirmed.
State Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari announced that 29 of the 33 districts have been declared flood-hit based on rainfall recorded between August 31 and September 3. A relief fund of Rs three crore per district is being allocated to aid recovery efforts.
Kumari, during a teleconference with district Collectors, requested detailed reports on the losses caused by the heavy rain and flooding, with a submission deadline set for Monday afternoon. Ex-gratia will be provided to the families of the flood victims, and details of the deceased are being compiled.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is scheduled to hold a meeting on Monday to discuss further relief and rehabilitation measures. Preliminary estimates suggest the state has suffered losses amounting to Rs 5,438 crore.
