The controversy surrounding IPS officer M R Ajith Kumar's alleged meeting with senior RSS leader Dattatreya Hosabale has intensified, drawing sharp reactions from both the ruling CPI and opposition Congress.
Kumar, who is a close confidant of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, defended his visit, saying it was personal. Despite this, speculation continues to swirl, fueled by claims that the meeting was tied to political maneuvers around the Thrissur Pooram festival. Both CPI and Congress leadership have demanded further clarification and a judicial probe.
The CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam expressed public doubts about the meeting, questioning the motives behind it. Meanwhile, CPI (M) leadership has maintained a defensive stance, arguing that the visit had nothing to do with the party's policies or political alignments.
