A Goa police sub inspector was booked on Friday for allegedly abetting the suicide of lawyer Jayant Prabhu, confirmed officials.
Advocate Jayant Prabhu took his life on Thursday at his Davorlim village residence following a police raid by sub inspector Anoushka Parab. The raid was related to a case involving Prabhu's son, Pritesh, who faces molestation charges.
The South Goa Lawyers Association staged a protest outside the Deputy Superintendent of Police Santosh Desai's office, calling for Parab's prosecution based on a suicide note left by the deceased. Prabhu's son Ashish formally lodged a complaint, leading to Parab being charged with abetment. Deputy SP Desai assured that the allegations against Parab will be thoroughly investigated.
