Two individuals, including a police inspector, were apprehended on Monday while accepting a bribe of Rs 8 lakh in Rajasthan's Pratapgarh district, according to officials.

DG ACB Ravi Prakash Mehrada revealed that police inspector Surendra Singh Solanki, the SHO of Arnod Police Station, allegedly demanded the bribe from the complainant via a middleman named Guddu Lal alias Kanti Lal, to prevent implicating him in a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Following the verification of the complaint, authorities laid a trap and captured both suspects while they were accepting the Rs 8 lakh bribe from the complainant. Both individuals were subsequently arrested under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
