The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday uncovered a significant land scam involving over 310 kanals of custodian land in Jammu, reportedly seized by the land mafia with the help of government officials, according to official sources.
The ACB has registered ten FIRs and conducted searches at twelve locations in and around Jammu, said a spokesperson of the anti-graft agency.
The scam, which spans the Asarwan, Mishriwala, and Bhalwal areas of Jammu, was discovered following formal verification. The investigation revealed that power of attorney was acquired from various Pakistan-occupied Kashmir refugees under false pretenses, leading to fraudulent sales and significant government losses.
