On Monday, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Jammu and Kashmir took action against corrupt government employees, accusing them of serious financial misconduct. Mohammad Shafi Rather, a class IV employee, has been charged with possessing disproportionate assets.

Additionally, an FIR was filed against Executive Engineer Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat for misappropriation of funds by assigning work to an unqualified contractor and subsequently inflating the costs by 172 percent.

Investigations revealed Rather accumulated assets worth crores of rupees in various lands and houses, while Bhat facilitated illegal work extensions worth crores. Further searches uncovered incriminating documents connected to these cases.
