A tragic incident unfolded on Monday in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district, where a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) head constable allegedly ended his own life, an official revealed.
The victim, identified as Vipin Chandra, took the drastic step at approximately 10:30am within the 195th battalion headquarters. Chandra used his AK-47 rifle to shoot himself in the barracks.
According to the official, Chandra's colleagues rushed him to the Dantewada district hospital after hearing the gunshot, but he was declared dead upon arrival. Authorities are currently investigating the reasons behind this extreme measure. The CRPF is extensively deployed in the region to combat Left Wing Extremism.
