A nine-year-old girl was reportedly raped by her 25-year-old neighbor on Saturday in a city area, according to police.

The young girl, who resides with her widowed mother, was found in severe pain after the neighbor entered her home and assaulted her before fleeing the scene.

Additional Superintendent of Police Chiranjivi Nath Singh confirmed that the girl has been admitted to a hospital. Authorities have organized multiple teams to apprehend the perpetrator.
