Father Arrested for Hacking Daughter to Death Over Interfaith Marriage

A man in a tragic act of violence killed his daughter with an axe over her interfaith marriage. The incident occurred after continuous family disputes following her return for Raksha Bandhan. A man fatally attacked his 30-year-old daughter with an axe over her interfaith marriage, according to local police on Saturday.

Parul had married a Muslim man two years prior, a union which her family opposed. Upon her return home for Raksha Bandhan, family arguments reignited. Circle Officer Kamlesh Kumar reported that during a heated dispute on Friday night, the father, Surendra Singh Thakur, committed the act.

Authorities promptly responded, taking the body into custody for a post-mortem examination. An FIR has been filed based on the mother's complaint, leading to the father's arrest.
