Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar voiced his deep concerns over the absence of meaningful discussions and the chronic disruptions in the Rajya Sabha during his address at the 8th Dharma Dhamma International conference held at Gujarat University.
Dhankhar lamented that narrow partisan interests are eclipsing the constitutional responsibilities of public representatives. He emphasized the critical need for adherence to 'dharma'—or duty, warning that failure to do so compromises the nation's interests and tarnishes its institutions.
Highlighting the urgency of the issue, Dhankhar reminded the audience that as India strives to reclaim its heritage as 'Vishwaguru,' every individual must commit to their duty to help the country reach developed status by 2047. He condemned the misuse of influential platforms to steer public opinion for self-serving political gains, labeling such actions as the highest form of 'adharm' or unrighteousness.
