In a significant development, Pune police have registered an FIR against Hindu religious leader Ramgiri Maharaj for his inflammatory remarks against Prophet Mohammad and Islam. The complaint, lodged by Shoeb Shaikh, has been filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita.

The FIR claims that Maharaj intentionally made remarks designed to create societal rifts and incite riots. The official confirmed the registration of complaints under BNS sections 302 and 192, among others.

This legal action follows multiple FIRs against Maharaj in various Maharashtra cities. His controversial statements during a Nashik religious event have sparked protests, although Maharaj asserts his comments addressed violence against Hindus in Bangladesh.
