Two men were arrested by the Delhi Police for an attempted kidnapping in Alipur, officials confirmed on Wednesday. Gurmeet Singh and his accomplice Nikhil were detained after a viral video surfaced on social media.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (outernorth) Ravi Kumar Singh reported receiving information on August 14 regarding a kidnapping. Investigation revealed that the victim had jumped out of the car near Bakouli crossing.

The suspects were identified after car owner details led to Gurmeet Singh. During interrogation, he claimed they mistook the victim for a mobile phone thief and were en route to the police station when they realized they were being recorded. Consequently, they pushed the victim out of the vehicle and fled.
